About The Alliance

Standing With Those Who Served.

Virginia is home to hundreds of thousands of veterans who have served our nation with courage and sacrifice. They deserve a healthcare system that is there for them when and where they need it.

The Virginia Veterans Care Alliance is a statewide coalition dedicated to protecting and strengthening access to high-quality healthcare for Virginia’s veterans.

From Hampton Roads and Northern Virginia to the Shenandoah Valley, Richmond, Southwest Virginia, and communities in between, we believe every veteran should be able to access the care and specialized services they need close to home.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple: to ensure Virginia’s veterans have access to the quality care, specialized services, and support they have earned through their service to our nation.

Veterans often have healthcare needs that require a broad network of providers. Emergency care. Mental and behavioral health services. Rehabilitation. Specialty treatment. Long-term care. And ongoing support for veterans and their families.

That means veteran healthcare cannot stop at the doors of any single institution.

Virginia’s hospitals, healthcare professionals, VA providers, specialists, caregivers, and community organizations all have an important role to play. A strong healthcare system connects those resources so veterans can receive the right care at the right time.

What We Stand For

Access to Care
Veterans should have access to high-quality healthcare regardless of where they live. We advocate for strong healthcare networks that keep care accessible in communities across the Commonwealth.

Specialized Services
Veterans can face unique physical and behavioral health needs. We support access to the specialty treatment, rehabilitation, mental healthcare, emergency services, and long-term care veterans and their families depend on.

A Healthcare System That Works Together
Supporting veterans should never be a question of VA care versus community care. Veterans benefit when VA providers, hospitals, specialists, community providers, and caregivers work together.

Veteran Voices
Decisions about veteran healthcare should include veterans. We work to elevate the experiences of veterans, military families, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and community leaders so their voices are heard in Virginia’s healthcare debate.
